Intersection of a line and a hyperbola

Line y = mx+c

Hyperbola

x²/a² – y²/b² = 1

The equation which gives intersection points

x²(a²m²-b²) + 2a²mcx + a²(c²+b²) = 0

The two values of x and y may be real and distinct, coincident or imaginary.
